Partnership Success at Warner Goodman

  • Posted

With the beginning of a new month comes the start of a new chapter for two members of the Warner Goodman Commercial team based at Southampton as they enter Partnership of the Hampshire law firm.  Helen Porter and Torion Bowles from the Commercial Litigation Team have both been promoted to the role of Partner as of 1st May 2017.

Having been with the firm for over 8 years, Helen is currently Head of the Commercial Litigation team which advises on all aspects of commercial litigation, dispute resolution and professional negligence.  Helen specialises in property related disputes.  She obtained a First Class BA Honours degree in Law and French at London Guildhall University, and before moving to the area in 2005, Helen worked for the Government in London and overseas, as well as spending 10 years in the Territorial Army.

Torion began his legal career after graduating from Cardiff Law School and was called to the Bar in 2003.  After spending a number of years in civil litigation, he joined Warner Goodman as a member of the Residential Conveyancing team in Southampton in 2013 just after cross-qualifying as a Solicitor.  It was in March 2014 that he transferred to the Commercial Litigation team and has since built a strong client base focussing on contentious matters involving companies and partnerships, the protection of the reputations of businesses, internet defamation, intellectual property, contentious debt recovery and disputes concerning the supply of services and goods. Torion has recently successfully represented defendants in a multi-million partnership dispute in the High Court preventing another partner purchasing the partnership assets for less than open market value. Torion has conduct of other high value litigious commercial matters and he also forms part of Warner Goodman’s international company and commercial team advising international clients on claims brought within the UK.

Ed Voller, Managing Partner, commented “I am very proud of our Partnership team. The addition of Helen and Torion now means that we have 17 Partners in the Firm servicing a broad range of Commercial and High Street work.  Helen and Torion bring a wealth of experience in Commercial Litigation and I look forward to witnessing their contribution to the continued development of the firm”.
