Dereen Kakabra

Dereen joined Warner Goodman in October 2024, initially working within the Employment Peace of Mind team as a Document Audit Specialist. She holds a law degree from the University of Southampton and was awarded a scholarship to complete her LPC/LLM at the University of Law in 2022, reflecting her strong academic and professional dedication to the legal field.

In November 2025, Dereen began her training contract through the firm’s WG Academy Programme. Throughout her training, she will rotate across a range of departments, gaining experience in both contentious and non-contentious practice areas as she works towards qualification as a solicitor.

For her first seat, Dereen has joined the Employment Litigation team, where she is gaining hands-on experience by drafting legal documents, conducting in-depth research, and supporting clients through a wide range of complex workplace issues and disputes.

Outside of work, Dereen enjoys reading and spending time with her family. As a first-generation aspiring solicitor, she is passionate about overcoming barriers and creating opportunities for others. She actively mentors students and aspiring lawyers, offering guidance and sharing insights from her own journey. Through her social media presence, Dereen aims to inspire, educate, and encourage those from non-traditional backgrounds who are pursuing a career in law.
