Warner Goodman Southampton move to new headquarters

We are pleased to announce that our Warner Goodman Southampton team has moved to a new office in preparation for expansion plans in the area. We can now be found at Compass House, 1-3 The Avenue, SO17 1XG. Our new HQ is situated right at the heart of the town and in close proximity to the Crown Court.

The recent move is set to be another incredible milestone in our firm's extended history from when it was established 170 years ago.

Warner Goodman first entered the City of Southampton in the late 80s, when we were known by our previous name, Warner Goodman and Street. We merged with Southampton law firm, 'Streat, Daunt and Farmiloe' and opened our first Southampton office at Portland Terrace. In 1998 our firm relocated to College Place.

Fast forward to today, our Southampton team has recognised a growing demand for Legal Expertise within the city and surrounding areas. As a result, we've ramped up our recruitment to keep up with demand and maintain excellent client service levels. The firm has seen steady growth in all departments, with Residential Conveyancing, Private Client, Commercial and Employment Services showing the highest increase in staff.

Andy Munden, Managing Partner, commented on why now was a good time for the move, "We have simply outgrown our existing office space, and now is the right time to invest and move. College Place has been the firm's Southampton home for the last 25 years. However, now we need to look forward and grow the business."

"When looking for a new office, we knew we wanted to stay within this wonderful community. We have been part of this city for over two decades and would never want to leave it. We felt very fortunate that Compass House was available and that we could quickly agree on a purchase price. The building is just a two-minute walk from our existing office, which has meant little to no disruption for existing clients and staff."

Warner Goodman purchased Compass House in late December 2022. The building has much to offer, including three floors of office space, plenty of client meeting rooms, a lift and an on-site private car park. However, the interior of the building required significant updating. We hired Southampton-based contractors, Bluewood Office Interiors, to complete the refurbishment work.

Glass partitions have been installed throughout, creating a bright and spacious working environment for staff. Electrics, data cabling, and air conditioning have also been upgraded. The building was also finished with additional perks, including newly fitted kitchens on every floor, mood lighting in the staff break room, and a walk-in shower for employees who cycle to work.

Steve Grant, Partner and Project Lead for the move at the Southampton Branch said, "The work carried out in such a short time is remarkable. I want to thank Bluewood Office Interiors and all our staff for all they have done to make this move go so smoothly. We now have a top quality working environment for staff and a lovely reception area and meeting rooms to welcome clients."

With the refurbishment work and office move complete, Warner Goodman is excited to help more people and businesses in the area and continue being an integral part of the Southampton community.

Andy Munden shared his thoughts on the future of Warner Goodman and Southampton: "Our new office space offers us the opportunity to serve our clients in the city and the local areas in a modern, purpose-built and technologically advanced office environment. It will be fundamental in helping us serve the community for many years to come."
