Warner Goodman don their Santa suits for Fun Run!

  • Posted

As December approaches we are all thinking about how we will be spending Christmas this year, what presents to buy our loved ones, and looking forward to the festive celebrations to be had!  For eleven members of Warner Goodman LLP, they are also getting in shape to take part in Brendoncare’s Santa Fun Run!

“We have been supporting Brendoncare for the last couple of years, primarily through an annual Bake Off competition in October,” explains Karen Clarkson, Marketing Manager for the firm.  “The Bake Off’s have been a great success previously, however this year we were looking for something different and so decided to join in the Brendoncare Santa Fun Run instead.  Not only can we then raise money for the charity, but also support and help promote one of their regular fundraising events.”

Who are Brendoncare?

Brendoncare is a registered charity, dedicated to improving the quality of life for older people through 10 care homes and 85 clubs across the South of England.  Brendoncare clubs are friendship and wellbeing clubs run by volunteers that are dedicated to providing older people with opportunities for social interaction and to meet new friends in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Natasha Haji, Fundraising Officer for Brendoncare, commented, “‘We are absolutely delighted to have the staff at Warner Goodman running on our team, we have loved working alongside them over the last few years and we hope that they enjoy the day. The awareness and money that they will help us raise will go along way to supporting older people in the local community.”

This year’s Santa Fun Run will take place on Southampton Common on Sunday 4th December.  People of all ages are welcome to enter and can choose to walk, jog or run the 3km.  Once the fun run is completed there will also be festive stalls and refreshments for everyone to enjoy.

How do I donate?

“Our team are looking forward to putting their Santa suits on and running for such a wonderful charity.  With our ageing population the work that Brendoncare undertake is highly important; we’re hoping to raise at least £500 for them to put to good work around their homes, clubs and activity centres.”
