More qualification success as Trainee Solicitor qualifies into Employment team

  • Posted

Celebrations continue in the Southampton office of Warner Goodman as Gina McCadden has qualified into the Employment team.

Gina joined the firm in September 2014 working as a Paralegal in the team.  Prior to this, she studied law at the University of Surrey, graduating with a 2:1.  She then completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Guildford in 2016; graduating with distinction.  She also received a distinction in her Masters Degree, which she completed alongside her LPC.

During her time as a Trainee Solicitor, Gina gained experience across the varying high street and commercial departments of the firm including Private Client, Employment Litigation and Company Commercial.  Her final seat saw her return to Employment, this time in the Peace of Mind team, where she has now taken a permanent position.

Speaking on her time as a Trainee and her qualification, Gina commented, “The last four years working at Warner Goodman have been invaluable, and I’m delighted to be qualifying into the team.  From before I started my Period of Recognised Training, I knew Employment was the area of law I wished to specialise in upon qualification; working with both businesses and employees in an ever changing and complex legal field brings new challenges every day but also new skills and experiences.  The team are very proactive in keeping our clients up to date with the changes that arise from new legislation and case law, and I look forward to continuing to be a part of that support for our clients.”

In Gina’s role in the Peace of Mind team, she will work with the member businesses on their vital HR and employment law documents.  She will also act as a main point of contact for the clients on their day to day employment law requests, advising on areas such as disciplinary and grievance matters, maternity rights, flexible working requests, holiday and sickness absence, employment status and much more.

Dan Thompson, Trainee Partner, explains, “Gina has been an integral part of the Employment team for several years now, so it’s rewarding to see her hard work pay off by welcoming her as a Solicitor in the team.  Gina has brought new ideas to the team for their practices and procedures, as well as for their proactive marketing activities, and she has already developed strong relationships with many of the Peace of Mind members.  I’m delighted we have been able to continue with that continuity for our members while also retaining a very promising Solicitor.”
