Third year for Circus Starr sponsors

  • Posted

The circus is coming to town courtesy of Circus Starr, and Warner Goodman LLP are proud to be sponsors for the third year in a row.  As part of their Big Top Spring Tour 2015, Circus Starr will be bringing the magic of the circus to many families in Portsmouth on the 25th May, and Karen Clarkson, Marketing Manager, explains here why the law firm have chosen to continue with their sponsorship this year.

“When we were first approached by Circus Starr three years ago we were keen to be involved to help the local families in Portsmouth and it seemed like a unique and fun opportunity” begins Karen.  “Our sponsorship goes towards providing tickets for families in Portsmouth who otherwise wouldn’t experience the joy and thrill of attending a circus, something which can be life-changing to some families.”

Circus Starr is a touring circus with world-class acts and entertainment, which was first founded in 1987 to help raise much needed funds for local charities whilst providing free seats for thousands of disadvantaged, disabled or vulnerable children.  Circus Starr host a 75 venue tour three times a year, enabling 37,500 children and their families to attend and over £1.37m worth of free circus tickets donated every year.

According to Circus Starr, 1 in 20 children are born with a disability and 1 in 6 are living in poverty.  “These are the very families we aim to help with our sponsorship,” concludes Karen.  “Over recent years the circus experience provided by Circus Starr has proven to increase confidence and self-esteem in children and they feel a greater connection with those around them reducing their feelings of isolation.  Their parents also benefit from meeting other families in a similar situation to them, growing their network of support.  We’re extremely proud to be sponsors again for another year, and look forward to another wonderful show!”
