Solicitor Grant Usher promoted to Associate at Warner Goodman

We are delighted to announce the promotion of Grant Usher, our newest Solicitor to achieve Associate status at Warner Goodman. We are excited about the promotion and believe Grant's expertise and ideas will help us move forward, especially within the Commercial sector.

Grant joined Warner Goodman in December 2020 after working for various law firms in the South. Grant studied Law at Oxford Brookes University and graduated with First Class Honours in 2013. He then became a qualified Solicitor in March 2017 after completing a training contract with a firm based in Sussex and Kent. Since completing his education and training, Grant has achieved some incredible milestones while working in the Commercial Law sector. Grant was runner-up for LawNet's National Junior Lawyer of the Year in November 2017 and won the Junior Lawyer of the Year award from the Hampshire Incorporated Law Society in May 2018.

Since joining Warner Goodman, Grant has become integral to our Company Commercial team, working alongside Steven Grant and Naushad Rahman, both Partners at the Firm. The department has supported hundreds of businesses of various sizes with Corporate and Commercial legal matters. Typical services include share and asset sales and purchases, corporate reorganisations, management buyouts, contract reviews, and private equity investment.

Grant has worked with various high-profile corporate clients in his career so far. The most notable was when he represented the seller for the Financial takeover of Portsmouth Football Club in 2017.

We asked Grant how he felt when he was promoted to Associate: "I was delighted. I am thankful and grateful to the Partners for putting their faith in me. It's an opportunity for me to make a more significant impact at the Firm, both internally and externally. Warner Goodman is a fantastic Firm with core client values at its heart. It's a wonderful thing to be a part of, and I look forward to helping them achieve great things in the future."

We then asked Grant what his ambitions are for the future: "For now, I want to focus on helping the Commercial team grow. I also want to make an impression on the Portsmouth community and become the 'go-to' Solicitor for Portsmouth-based businesses. My personal goal is to join the Partnership at Warner Goodman."
