Running for British Heart Foundation

  • Posted

On Sunday 9th April, Naomi Maire, Accounts Assistant at Warner Goodman, will be taking part in the Brighton Marathon to raise funds for British Heart Foundation.

Speaking about the run, Naomi commented, “I have always been keen to take part in a marathon for my own bucket list, and so when a friend of mine was awarded with a charity place for British Heart Foundation at the Brighton Marathon, I decided to take part as well and raise money for the same charity.”

Every 3 minutes, someone in the UK suffers from a heart attack, 30% of which are fatal.  The vision of the British Heart Foundation is for a world in which people do not die prematurely or suffer from heart disease.  Their new investment project will see them invest over half a billion pounds into research to improve the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of all heart and circulatory diseases, including heart attacks and strokes, heart failure, congenital heart disease, heart muscle diseases and abnormal heart rhythms.

Naomi concludes, “I’ve been running for years but now it feels like my running is making a real difference.  We’re incredibly grateful for the donations raised so far and really hope we reach our target of £400.”
