Raising money for the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal

  • Posted

The Poppy Appeal is the Royal British Legion's most extensive fundraising campaign and is held every year in November during the period of Remembrance. The Poppy Appeal was launched in 1921 and has raised millions to help and support the armed forces community. Services like the Battle Back Centre, where wounded, injured, and sick service men and women start their recovery program, rely heavily on charities like the Poppy Appeal.

The charity also provides financial support, and last year helped 2,500 families experiencing financial difficulties. With more uncertainty in the UK economy, it's unfortunately likely that more veterans and their families will face financial hardship over the years to come.

This is why Warner Goodman and many others are coming together this year to raise money for the Poppy Appeal. The charity, and the people they support, need our donations more than ever.

To help do our part, Warner Goodman will be hosting a series of coffee and cake mornings across all five offices in Hampshire. Staff will bake a variety of delicious cakes, and all donations will go towards the Poppy appeal.

Lastly, we will help increase awareness by publishing content about the charity through our social media channels. We are also hosting a social media matching scheme on Twitter, where for every like and share our post receives, we will donate £1 (up to a maximum of £200) to the Poppy Appeal. So please make sure to give the post a like and a share when you see it pop-up on our Twitter feed.

If you would like to donate to the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal, please visit their official website here. You can also visit their online store, where proceeds from sales go towards supporting the armed forces community.
