Hampshire-based law firm Warner Goodman LLP is holding a free event on Saturday 23 September 2017 to support people who are looking at moving into a care home.

Local people are invited to come and find out more about the financial requirements of such a move, as well as legal considerations such as Lasting Power of Attorney, Life Interest Trust Wills and Wills.

Warner Goodman LLP is one of the leading law firms in the Solent area and has been delivering legal services for over 160 years. Jane Cox, Private Client Partner, will be sharing her knowledge in these key areas and there will be plenty of opportunity for people to ask questions.

The event is being hosted by local care home Brendoncare Alton in Adams Way.

Speaking of the event, Jane commented, “Warner Goodman has been working with Brendoncare in a variety of ways for the last few years, and we’re pleased to be given this opportunity to educate the residents, families and members of the public as to the requirements for the big step of moving into a care home.  There are lots of elements to consider, and if we can help by answering questions to ease the change then we are delighted to be able to do so.”

Part of registered charity The Brendoncare Foundation, the care home has been providing nursing and dementia care in Alton for over 20 years. The Care Quality Commission rated the home ‘good’ in an inspection earlier this year and it has also recently celebrated its accreditation as a provider of the Six Steps programme for high quality, end-of-life care.

Tina Manterfield, General Manager of Brendoncare Alton, said “We are delighted to be holding this event for local people in conjunction with Warner Goodman LLP. Moving into a care home is a big change for people and providing information about financial implications as well as legal safeguards is really important.”

The talk is taking place on Saturday 23 September between 10am – 11.30am at Brendoncare Alton, Adams Way, Alton, GU334 2UU. Anyone interested in finding out more about the home or the talk can visit the charity’s website www.brendoncare.org.uk/care or call 01420 549797.
