Warner Goodman LLP’s Alex Savage has been rewarded for her dedication and ambition at this year’s annual LawNet Awards, as she was named Young Lawyer of the Year 2015.

Alex joined the Hampshire law firm in 2012 as a trainee before qualifying into the Commercial Property team in 2014, and was swiftly promoted to Associate status a year later. “Alex’s promotion was recognition for her achievements within the firm and so to see her also rewarded externally with this award is exceptional for her,” commented Ian Curtis, Managing Partner for Warner Goodman LLP. “Her consistent financial results as well as the significant contributions she has made to the development of the firm, such as improving work processes and efficiencies, mentoring colleagues, taking an active and influential role in the business development and marketing activities of the firm, and achieving the firm’s fastest ever promotion to Associate, all contributed towards her success.”

The awards are open each year to legal practices who are members of LawNet, the leading national network for independent law firms.   Ian continues, “The event this year was attended by more than 200 solicitors and other members of Lawnet Firms, and Alex held off strong challenges from the other contenders to scoop the award. There are 65 Firms in Lawnet so it was no mean feat for Alex to be chosen as Young Lawyer of the Year from a field of such high calibre.”

On receiving the award, Alex commented, “I’m thrilled to be Young Lawyer of the Year, not only for me personally but for my colleagues as well as it reflects the high level of support I have had to make me the lawyer I am today.  Since joining the Firm I have always been encouraged to succeed and develop my skills and knowledge to achieve my goals, whether that’s been through training or being trusted to improve procedures and develop other members of the team.  This award is as much for the Firm and my colleagues as it is for me.”

Ian concluded, “It is an absolute privilege to have Alex amongst our team and to see the quality of her nomination and those of the other nominees in this category speaks volumes for the future of the legal profession. I’m excited to see how Alex develops further in what I am sure will be a highly successful future career.”
