Natasha Young

Training and HR Manager (External)

Natasha joined our Employment team based in Southampton in September 2019 as Training and HR Manager (External). Prior to joining the firm, Natasha spent 20 years working in HR across a variety of sectors, including professional services, fashion, telecommunications, property, education and charity. Natasha is a Fellow of the CIPD, with a particular interest in Employment Law.

In her role, Natasha works with clients of the Employment team to provide HR support. Clients who don’t have an HR Manager on site particularly benefit from the reassurance of an external HR Manager when they hold disciplinary or grievance meetings and Natasha is able to provide the confidence they need to deal robustly and fairly with employee relations issues that arise.

In addition to this, she also works with local businesses exploring any training needs they may have, such as training for their managers on how to avoid tribunal claims, sickness absence, managing mental health in the workplace, conducting investigations into disciplinary and grievance matters, conducting meetings with confidence and much more.

Outside of work, Natasha spends a lot of time acting as a taxi for her two children but also enjoys socialising, gardening, cycling in the New Forest, yoga and genealogy.

I would just like to reiterate my thoughts on Natasha and how she handled the recent disciplinary hearing.  I can't praise Natasha highly enough for the way that she dealt with the entire process.  She managed with her professionalism, patience and people skills to instil a sense of calmness into a difficult and potentially stressful situation and I am sure that would have also been felt by the other party.  She also put forward her explanations and instructions in a very clear and concise way.

Natasha was outstanding.  Professional, courteous and above all caring. Not just a client but a person. They took away significant stress potential.

Thank you for making a very difficult process about as good as it could be. Your participation was invaluable both to the business and to me personally. It has been great working with you and I wish you and your family a happy release from lockdown!
