Buying or Selling a Business

 

We understand that buying or selling a business is one of the most important things you will do in your lifetime.  We therefore seek to provide the highest level of service throughout. 

 

At this point we could tell you how good we are at minimising your risk through tough negotiating and careful drafting, but we would rather you just took that for granted and let us get on with that for you. 

 

From the outset we focus on what is important to you.  For most people the ultimate goal is to get the deal done, often within a tight timescale.  Our advice will be focused on what needs to be done to achieve each milestone and ultimately complete the deal.  We will agree a clear action plan with you at the outset so that we can maintain momentum and ensure that the process runs as smoothly as possible.  We will not waste time lecturing you on the law, unless of course you ask us to!

 

We maintain our approach with other professionals and financiers throughout the deal and will speak with them, at the earliest opportunity, to ensure that everyone is pulling in the same direction and to ensure that any wrinkles are ironed out as soon as possible.  This includes the other party’s lawyers.  We find that a phone call to the other party’s lawyers at the outset can save a lot of time and money if key issues and contractual points are agreed early on.  It is perhaps no wonder we have established excellent relationships with other professionals.
